Westside Discs Sorcerer - VIP

Westside Discs' Description:
The Sorcerer is our answer for a high speed disc for all skill levels. With a smaller grip than most high speed discs the Sorcerer leaves the hand fast. For professional players it is great for long anhyzers that actually come back when it runs out of speed. The Sorcerer provides a nice long “S” curve line. For lower arm speeds the Sorcerer will actually get flat and glide before diving to the left. Many drivers designed for slower arm speeds have poor flight integrity. The sorcerer will give you that “pro throw” you have been looking for on the course. The Sorcerer comes in VIP and Tournament plastics.

I had the chance to play some rounds and do a little field work with the VIP sorcerer and I definitely love this disc! I have some experience with other Westside Discs in Tournament plastic, but this my first VIP. The clear plastic is somewhat soft, but not so much so that it feels flimsy when you're trying to really rip, and it's fairly tacky. I could see it getting a little slippery on a rainy day though. The sorcerer has a comfortably wide rim, and a little bit of dome, but nothing too crazy considering the 6 glide rating. This disc can really bomb if you have some open space with no wind, a tail wind, or very little head wind. This is certainly not a wind fighting disc! With little to no wind I like to give this disc a little hyzer flip where it will slowly flip to flat, give a little bit of turn and then have a moderate fade back. For me it finishes just about on the target line, maybe slightly to the right. I would say the numbers are more like 13 6 -1 2. Overall a really nice disc with quality plastic, comfortable grip and cool art! Would highly recommend this to any intermediate or higher player looking for a nice open bomber disc!
